What's Worship Like At Hannaford?
Common questions about worship services at Hannaford
What time should I get there? You can choose from two worship times at 8:30 am and 10:45 am. In between the two worship times at 9:45 am, we have Sunday School and adult groups that meet for fellowship and Bible study.
Am I going to stand out? You can expect between 150-200 people at each of our services so you won't stand out, but you will probably be noticed and greeted. We will not ask you to stand, raise your hand, or something uncomfortable. We recognize that there is a fine line between feeling like nobody cares that you are there, and being embarrassed. We will care, but won't make you feel uncomfortable.
We do ask that you officially let us know that you have been our guest by filling out the communication slip from our bulletin and returning it to the Welcome Center. There you can receive a gift package containing some candies and some more information about Hannaford.
What can I expect in worship? We have a celebrative, upbeat, and vibrant style of worship. Our music is always God-honoring and relevant. While we sing contemporary songs led by a praise band and singers, we also sing some hymns and read scripture together at times. In either case, you won't feel uncomfortable as the words are projected on our video screen - we try to make it easy. We utilize dynamic music, compelling dramas, visual media, real-life stories, and Biblical teachings to inspire you to draw closer to God, family, and friends. In a sense there is something for everyone. Our services are relaxed with a positive, upbeat feel. On the last Sunday of each month at Hannaford, we celebrate Communion. Any believer in Christ is welcome to participate in this very special observance in which we are actively reminded how much God loves us. Check out a video sample of Hannaford worship here.
Will I be expected to give money? If you are our guest, we want you to know that we will not be asking you for money. In fact when it comes time for the offering, we will ask you to let the plate go right past and not put anything in! As a guest, we would like this experience to be our gift to you.
How should I dress? Our dress is casual (if that's what you're comfortable in) or more dressy if you like to go to go to church in your Sunday best. Our pastors and congregation generally wear something relaxed, modest and presentable.
Are our children welcome? Absolutely! Kids just love the special Primary Church and Kid's Church just for children during the adult worship. We also have nursery care available for young children or we invite you to remain with your child as the worship service is broadcasted into the foyer or fellowship room.
